Public Speaking

The Public Speaking Program is designed to grow young speakers of any age and level to professional level public speakers. This process of development involves building important communication skills useful in daily life, education and careers. This is an integrative program that focuses on interdisciplinary processes such as speaking, listening, presenting, planning, preparation, and critical thinking to mold powerful speakers.

Public Speaking Instructors

Anna – Public Speaking / Debate

Anna graduated with High Distinction at UC Berkeley, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Since 2013, she has won awards at over 20 debate tournaments, which is to say that her passion for public speaking has never dwindled.  When she was in university, she was a member of the Parliamentary Debate at Berkeley: the most competitively successful student-run debate team in the history of the National Parliamentary Debate Association.

Carol – Public Speaking

Carol represented all of British Columbia in the Toastmasters International World Championships of Public Speaking, making her one of the top 18 speakers in the Toastmasters world that year. She also was the Executive Director of Toastmasters District 21 in the year 2017-2018. Carol has been teaching at APASS Education since 2015 and brought many students to international public speaking competition stages and grow to be inspirational speakers.

Fiona – Public Speaking / Social Studies

Fiona Wang has a Master of Arts degree in Criminology from Ryerson University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from University of British Columbia (UBC) and a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate from Vancouver Community College.

Julie – Public Speaking / Acting

Julie has facilitated hugely successful organizations such as TEDX, Peak Potentials, Master Training, Warrior Sage and World Luminaries among others. She is no stranger to working with individuals and groups as a speaker coach and acting teacher to more than a thousand students from all walks of life for the past 20 years.

Tara – Public Speaking / English / IELTS

Tara holds a B.A in Sociology/Anthropology and International Development from Guelph University and a Masters in Environmental Studies from York university where she focused on curriculum development and education programs for environmental issues. She received a scholarship program to research in Latin America and has presented her research at International conferences for the development of education and preservation of traditional knowledge systems.
